Soller is one of the most popular residential areas in Mallorca. The village enchants above all with its unique charm, sense of community and architecture. Soller's events also offer a mixture of tradition and joie de vivre. We have put together Soller's current program of events for you.

Fiery fascination: Sant Antoni

One of Soller's extravagant events that the locals celebrate with great enthusiasm every year is the festival of St. Anthony - better known as "Sant Antoni". The festivities are characterized by fire, music and demons, making it an unforgettable experience. If you want to take part in the event in Soller, you should buy your tickets in advance, as this event is very popular and tickets often sell out.

Historical spectacle: Es Firó

"Es Firó" is another highlight of the events in Soller. It is a colorful re-enactment of the invasion by Turkish and Algerian pirates in 1561, which was successfully repelled in Soller. This historical representation is one of Mallorca's most famous festivals and attracts visitors from all over the island and beyond.

"Es Firó takes place over several days in the middle of May. The main event, the battle, takes place on Monday, but the festival begins the previous Thursday with the inauguration of the "Valentes Dones" (the brave sisters who successfully repelled an attack on their house by the pirates) in the spectacular "Sant Bartomeu" church in the main square of Soller.

On Saturday, a solemn procession takes place in which hundreds of people parade through the streets of Soller and carry the statue of the "Mare de Déu de la Victòria" (Our Lady of Victory) to the church. Flowers are presented as offerings and the flag of "Sant Ponc 1561" is raised.

Sunday is known as "Sa Fira" (The Fair), when the streets of Soller are filled with market stalls and people in traditional Mallorcan costume.

Monday, the most important day of the Soller event "Es Firó", begins with the signal that enemy ships have been sighted. At around 3 pm, thousands of people gather at the port of Soller to watch the Turkish ships land. The attackers are greeted with cannon and rifle fire and then move from the port to the village of Soller, where they are fought all the way. The battle culminates in the main square, where the pirates are finally defeated and driven away.

Captain "Angelats", the leader of the heroic defenders, announces the victory from the balcony of the town hall. The citizens of Soller then fall to their knees and sing the official anthem of Mallorca, "La Balanguera". An intense and emotional scene that is the highlight of this Soller event and must be experienced.

Magical summer nights: Sant Joan

The night before the feast of St. John, known as "Sant Joan", is a very special, magical and mystical night. It is also known as the night of fire, the night of witches or the night of magic and is symbolic of the transition from darkness to light. This Soller event is closely linked to the beginning of summer and the summer solstice.

It is celebrated annually on June 23 and is known as a "zero waste" night, where participants are encouraged to bring reusable dishes, cutlery, cups and bottles, as well as their own ashtrays. The principle is to leave nothing but your footprints when you leave.

Culinary highlight: Fira de la Taronja

From April to May, Soller is transformed into a culinary paradise for gourmets. During Soller's "Fira de la Taronja" event, the orange fair, the local citrus fruit takes center stage. Restaurants in Soller and Port Soller prepare special menus with oranges as the main ingredient.

The "Fira de la Taronja" is a mix of culinary and cultural activities celebrating the citrus fruits of the Soller Valley. Enjoy the taste of fresh, juicy oranges and experience the unusual creativity and mastery of the local chefs who transform this simple fruit into culinary delicacies in a variety of ways.

Local markets - pleasure for all the senses

One of the places where Soller's events take place is the local market hall, which is open from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. Here, exhibitors offer local products such as olive oil, oranges, but also fish and meat.

In addition, the market takes place every Saturday - strolling through the various stalls is a popular Soller activity. Local farmers, bakers, artists and many more exhibit their unique offerings. In addition to the local products, you can always find out Soller's news through conversations at the markets. Let yourself be carried away by the colorful hustle and bustle!

St. Bartholomew: A celebration of culture and community in Soller

The "Festa de Sant Bartomeu" is an important event in Soller. The "Correfoc" usually takes place during the annual festival in August. The Soller event usually begins after dark to enhance the unique effect of the flames and sparks. The "Correfoc" is a kind of street parade in which the participants are dressed as devils and demons. They often wear spectacular, bright costumes and perform a kind of dance rite through the streets of the city.

An essential part of this unique Soller event are the "Correbous", giant figures, often designed as dragons or other mythical creatures, which are equipped with fireworks. As they parade through the streets, the "devils" light these fireworks, which spit sparks and fire into the crowd. Despite the apparent danger, it is common for spectators to try to get as close as possible to the devils and their fireworks in order to "dance" with them in the flames and sparks.

For safety reasons, it is recommended that you wear clothing that fully covers your body, including a hat and goggles, when attending this Soller event. It is a Soller event that embodies joy and at the same time aims to encourage people to overcome their fears.
