Does it annoy you every time you fly as a couple and have to pay extra just to sit next to your partner?
According to the Mallorcan consumer association Consubal, this is not only annoying, but also a violation of customers' rights. They have today submitted a petition to the European Parliament. They want it to be forbidden for airlines to charge travelers extra for sitting next to each other on the plane.
It is now common practice for many airlines to charge between ten and 30 euros per seat. The consumer advice center has therefore filed a lawsuit against Ryanair and other low-cost airlines.
