For the ninth time, the Evolution Film Festival will take place in Palma. The event was included in the list of worthwhile 50 festivals by the prestigious magazine "Movie Maker" for the third year in a row. On the platform "Film Freeway" it ranks among the best 100 festivals.
This year's offer is even more extensive and diverse than ever before. However, due to the pandemic, drive-in cinema events are being expanded, and some of the films submitted from 75 countries can be seen on online platforms.
Already published was the awarding of the main prizes. The Evolution Honorary Award goes to Ángela Molina. The Spanish actress began her international career in 1977 with Luis Buñuel's film "This Obscure Object of Desire." At the Evolution Festival, her latest film "Lalla Aicha" by Moroccan director Mohamed El Badaoui will have its European premiere.
The Evolution Vision Award will go to French director, writer and illustrator Marjane Satrapi. Her latest film "Radioactive" about the physicist Marie Curie will be screened at the film festival.
