In Mallorca and neighboring islands, it is strictly forbidden to burn garden waste and barbecue in barbecue areas between May 1 and October 15.
Due to the high temperatures and drought, there is a high risk of forest fires. Mallorca has already recorded two major forest fires this summer. In the vicinity of Cala Ratjada and near Calvià, several hectares of pine forest have burned. Fortunately, houses were not damaged, people were not injured.
