With joy and relief, businesses and residents in Mallorca have received the news that the Balearic archipelago has been removed from the list of risk areas in both Switzerland and Germany. Switzerland even went a step further and removed the whole of Spain from the list.

In addition to the Balearic Islands, the Robert Koch Institute no longer defines the Spanish regions of Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Valencia, La Rioja and Murcia as risk areas. The 7-day incidence in the Balearic Islands is stable at 20.

Tour operators and, above all, airlines reacted immediately. The latter are now stocking up flights, especially for Easter.

RELAXATIONS ON THE PART OF THE ISLAND GOVERNMENT
At the same time, the island government has also placed Mallorca on level 2 of the danger scale. This means some relaxations. In shopping centers, stores and gyms may be more people than before at the same time, 10 people are allowed to exercise together in the open air and also the interiors of restaurants will be open from Monday (15.03.21). Here 30% of the usual capacity may be served, on the terraces the number increases to 50%.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR TRAVELERS?
For Germans, the quarantine obligation and proof of a negative Corona test result no longer apply when returning to Germany.
Swiss people can now also return home after a visit to Mallorca without having to go into quarantine. Here, however, it remains with the test obligation.
However, the obligation to show a negative PCR test upon entry into Spain remains.
