Right at the start of the year, the New Year's Day (Año nuevo) on 01.01. and the Three Kings (Reyes magos) on 06.01. are just around the corner. Especially the day of the Three Kings is one of the most important holidays in Mallorca and is also the day when the children get their presents. The arrival of the Magi in Palma, traditionally by boat, culminates in a festive procession through the city.
The independence of Spain is celebrated on the first of March with the festival "Diada de Balears". On this day in March, Mallorca attracts many tourists and residents with markets, concerts and many street parties. Just eighteen days later, on March 19, locals celebrate St. Joseph's Day. To the autumn the official holidays of Mallorca decrease. The 12.10. is the Spanish national holiday (Dia de la Hispanidad), on 01.11. follows All Saints Day (Todos los Santos), on 06.12. Constitution Day (Constitución), on 08.12. the holiday of the Conception of Mary (Inmaculada Concepción) and finally on 25.12. the first Christmas Day. "Navidad" - Christmas Day - finds its place in the full holiday calendar of Mallorca the following day.
Regional holidays of Mallorca
In addition to the official holidays of Mallorca, especially the regional and local festivals have a very special charm and offer real highlights in the annual calendar of events.
On 17.01. St. Anthony is commemorated with large bonfires, while on 20.01. festivities are held in honor of the patron saint and city saint St. Sebastian in Mallorca.
