The Spanish government has set itself the goal of zero-emission mobility by 2050.
To achieve this, it was decided to close the price gap between internal combustion and plug-in models with a financial aid called MOVES (MOVilidad Eficiente y Sostenible). Private individuals can now receive up to EUR 7,000 in subsidies from the respective autonomous region.
400 million euros in aid
The Plan Moves III is the third edition of the support program for electromobility. It is part of the European Economic Recovery Plan and has a budget of 400 million euros distributed in the form of direct aid for electromobility and charging infrastructure. The government has committed to doubling this funding if there is sufficient demand.
How can you apply for them?
The grants are aimed at individuals, the self-employed, large companies and administrations.
Each autonomous region is responsible for the administration of the subsidies and can supplement the total amount with its own budgetary resources. The maximum subsidy amount of EUR 7,000 per car will not be exceeded.
The subsidies are granted in the following 2 cases:
Plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) with an electric range of between 30 and 90 kilometers and a sales price (excluding VAT) of no more than 45,000 euros. For these vehicles, the subsidies range from 2,500 euros to 5,000 euros, depending on whether or not an internal combustion vehicle is disposed of at the time of purchase.
100% electric cars (EV or BEV) with a range of
of more than 90 kilometers and a sales price (excluding VAT) of no more than 45,000 euros, or 53,000 euros for cars with 8 seats. For these vehicles, the subsidies range from 4,500 euros to 7,000 euros, depending on whether or not an internal combustion vehicle is disposed of at the time of purchase.
What if I bought a motorcycle?
Moves III Plan funding is for electric and plug-in hybrid cars, vans, motorcycles, and four-wheelers. Electric trucks and buses are not included; nor are mopeds and gas-powered vehicles. Also not included are items included in the previous edition for electric bicycles for loan or operational mobility plans.
Until when can I apply for these grants?
You have until December 2022 to apply for the grant, or until your autonomous region has exhausted the funds allocated for these grants.
