It had been announced for a long time, postponed several times and now it is finally coming into force: the law for the avoidance of waste, which bans single-use plastic on Mallorca from March 20, 2021.
Both the use and the sale are prohibited.
Among other things, the ban covers disposable tableware such as that commonly used in take-away restaurants, but also coffee capsules, razors, straws and shopping bags. In the future, such items must be made of compostable materials.
