Rail travel on Mallorca is to become free from September 1 - but only for those who regularly take the train. This was announced by Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
From September, anyone who buys a permanent ticket from the rail company SFM will have to pay a deposit of 10 to 20 euros. If you then use the train at least 16 times over a period of four months, you will be refunded the money.
