Since the beginning of March, the tunnel Son Vic, on the main route between Paguera and exit Camp de Mar, is closed.
This leads to traffic chaos and anger among residents.
The tunnel, built in the 1990s, needs to be overhauled to ensure traffic safety.
Whereas initially there was talk of a construction period of only 3 months, it is now expected to last until the beginning of next year.
At the moment, the tunnel can not be passed on any lane. The traffic is completely routed through Paguera.
The boulevard of Paguera is only open for cabs, the rest of the traffic must squeeze through side streets.
But from April, the tunnel should at least be passable on one side again. During the high season, the work is to be suspended and the tunnel reopened in both directions until detours are in place again in the fall.
That's the plan:
15.03.-06.04.2022
The tunnel is closed in both directions.
Detour through Paguera.
