In the 2nd half of 2021, 81.5 percent more properties changed hands in Mallorca than in the same period the year before. A total of 4,441 properties were sold by or to foreigners in the Balearic Islands last year Sold.
This is the strongest increase in the whole of Spain. The Canary Islands and Andalusia follow far behind with the highest proportion of foreigners in transactions.
The average price per square meter in the Balearic Islands in the second half of last year was EUR 3,777, which represents an increase of 9.3 percent. However, this is still below the average across Spain, where property prices rose by 14.3 percent per square meter.
The largest foreign buyer base last year was again from Germany (59%), followed by the British (11%).
