That was the plan: From 01.10.2020, travelers returning from risk areas must go into quarantine for at least 5 days after entering Germany before they can "buy their way out" with a PCR test. However, the new regulation will not be introduced quite so quickly after all. There is now talk of mid to late October.

In concrete terms, this means that visitors to Mallorca can still travel relatively easily. Because you can completely avoid the quarantine in Germany, you make the Corona test already on Mallorca. Many doctors and laboratories offer such a test already from 100 EUR. If this is not older than 48 hours (smear - entry) and the result is negative, you can comfortably fly back to Germany without quarantine.

The PCR test option at German airports is less expensive. Here there is the possibility of a free test on return. Until the result is transmitted (usually no longer than 48 hours), one must isolate oneself.
